The Good News of Hope
HOPE
What do you think of when you hear the word, “hope?” Perhaps you have heard the word used in a recent conversation: “With the economy the what it is, I hope I don’t lose my retirement investments!” Sometimes “hope” refers to something very uncertain.
However, in God's Word, the Bible, hope never refers to something uncertain. It is a “confident expectation or trust in God who always keeps His promises.” In fact, we are repeatedly encouraged throughout the Bible to “Hope in the Lord.”
Here at Crossroad Baptist Church, we are passionate about getting to know our God! The more we know Him, the more hopeful we become. Come navigate life’s crossroads with us as we grow hopeful people, one life at a time.
You Can Know Jesus Christ Today
- Understand that everyone is a sinner (including you). Romans 3:23 “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
- Realize sin has a price that must be paid. Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
- Accept God’s love for you. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
- Recognize that because of God’s love, Jesus Christ died to pay your sin’s price. Romans 5:8 “But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
- Repent of your sin by praying to ask Jesus Christ to be your Savior and claiming His promise of eternal life. Romans 10:9-10 “That if you confess with your mout the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:13 “Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
